Celebrity Chef - John Benson-Smith

Having trained in France with the famous Louis Outhier, and gaining inspiration from working with well-known Chefs such as Peter Quinn, Peter Chandler and Nico Ladenis.
During the early nineties, he was known as 'Super Chef' at Manchester's celebrity filled Victoria & Albert Hotel, where he spent five years. John produced food in his signature style with huge imagination, flair and his infamous food descriptions. His efforts were recognised, and he was instrumental in putting Manchester on the important food map and achieved high accolades and a strong following.
In January 1997 John moved back to his native Yorkshire as Chef/ Director to mastermind a new project- Hazelwood Castle. Nine months later the Castle opened its doors, having been totally transformed into a luxury hotel, complete with restaurant, cafe and stand alone cookery school. During his tenure at Hazlewood he welcomed many famous faces, including the irrepressible Michael Winner as well as royalty.
As former BBC Masterchef Judge and Northern Chef of the Year, John also acts as a chef consultant to major food manufacturers and producers. He successfully endorses and promotes a range of products that are appropriate to his lifestyle and experitise. His inexhaustible energy and genuine love of the hospitality industry make him a valuable contributor to many companies.
Manchester City Football have appointed him as Consultant Chef for their magnificent new stadium and John enjoys writing for various newspapers and magazines. Wesley Smalley found his passion for food while living in Hong Kong as an 8 year old, while his farther was serving in the armed forces. Captivated by the fresh exotic fruit and vegetables from the open street market vendors.
Upon completing his apprenticeship at the local Brasserie in Sunningdale, Berkshire. Wesley joined the brigade at The Canteen (1star), Chelsea Harbour in the same time period of the infamous Marco Pierre White departure.
After Wesleys experience in various London kitchens, his desire to broaden his knowledge of cooking took him on a journey that shared both his love of travel and passion of food. Whilst working in Spain, Thailand and Australia, Wesley was able to develop his European style of cooking with an Asian and Australasia influence.
Wesley returned to his home town of London to become part of the acclaimed Ivy restaurant under Chef Director Mark Hix. It is here that Wesley rose to a management position and cooked for many world renowned celebrities.
In 2003 Wesley began his partnership with the Michelin starred Chef Jean Christophe Novelli, securing the position of Head Chef at his eargerly anticipated " Return to London" restaurant, Novelli in the City. It was here that Wesley was given the task of designing seasonal menus where his worldwide influences shone through and won him 3AA Rosettes within the first year.
As Jean Christophes Head Chef, Wesley was given great opportunities to help with television shows and other publicity including Hells Kitchen, " In her shoes" flim Premier and the much loved and supported BBC Good Food Show Live, also TV related travel which included Singapore, Dubai, and Moscow.
After three successful years it was time for Jean Christophe to move into new ventures taking Wesley with him. Wesley was then appointed Executive Chef of A Touch of Novelli. The flagship site in Harpenden opened to hiigh expectations securing bookings upt to six months in advance.
After the first year of trading, Wesley was appointed Director of Food for A Touch of Novelli, making him responsible for all planned restaurants including the recent addition, The French Horn in Steppingley In January 2009, Wesley was asked by Jean Christophe to move Marbella Spain for a 1 year contact to open his new fine dining restaurant together with a chefs table and cookery school which opened to critical acclaim. In Marbella, Wesley was responsible for personally cooking for many high profile celebrities as well as designing the menus for the Marbella film festival.

Having chucked in a degree in International Development and Political Philosphy for a passion for cooking , on finishing his apprenticeship Greg travelled to Tokyo to work in Las Chicas then ate his way around Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam before setting somewhat in Sydney Australia. There he worked for several years for the brilliant David Thompson, first at his legendary Darley Street Thai before aiding in the establishment of sailors thai, rising to sous chef.
In 2005 he enticed to work for the Bamford family both privately and in their growing Daylesford Organic enterprise. Then in 2008, feet itching, he took to the road cooking for the likes of the Osmonds, Back Street Boys, Led Zepplin, The Who, Foo Fighters, MTV Awards in Munich and others. This culminated in tour with Queen, cooking privately for the band before their tour as well as on the road. Turning down a full time private job in Roger Taylor's house hold, he travelled to South Korea to aid in the establishment of Daylesford Korea.
He also worked behind the scenes for Gino D Acampo, Daniel Galmiche and Sophie Grigson at this year's Oracle Fresh Food Festival in Reading. Recently he finished consulting for London based Deliverance to freshen up their Thai menu and contribute new tastes to ther winter menus.
Always seeking to learn more, he delights in the peculiarities of cuisines, their "whys" and " hows" and histories. His touch is light and fresh, allowing the ingredients and their blending to speak for themselves.

Paul's ambition to become a chef began at 14 years old, with a part time job at a local restaurant in Knutsford. The head chef, there, was inspirational - firm, fair and passionate, "Looking back the food was nothing out of the ordinary but where other chefs would have cut corners he made everything from fresh and would never waste anything. I have believed ever since that this is the sign of a good chef."
Paul Taylor (27) was a grand finalist in the Gordon Ramsey Scholarship and was part of Marco Pierre White's hadpicked team when the Lowry Hotel opened its River Restaurant in Manchester.
Paul has also worked at Longueville Manor in Jersey and also worked with Michelin-stared Chef Marcus Wearing after winning a culinary scholarship sponsored by Gordon Ramsey. Paul is now a major playor in the successful launch of three restaurants in Cheshire each called The Fat Loaf.
Paul now spends most of his time overseeing his restaurants, doing cooking demonstrations at a local college, and other cooking demonstrations at food Fayres and festivals.

World Master Chef - David Thatcher was trained in West Berlin as a chef I was there for 10 years. Becoming Head Chef as a prestigous Papillion Restaurant on the Kufursendamn West Berlin.
During the Berliner Film Festival an annual event Many Hollywood and European A list celebrities ate there as teh food was highly regarded. At the same time I had 20 minute cookery spot on AFN TV The American Forces TV this lasted for 8 months in 1984. I also appeared on West German TV.
On returning to the UK during the eighties and early nineties I had several succesfull Restaurants.
In 1994 I appeared on ready steady cook with Ferrn Britton and Ainsley Harriot. Also I did a lot of demonstration cooking in hotels and exhibitions in the West Sussex area.
Relocated to Spain in 1997 Had my own restaurant to great cruical acclaim. Open only Thursday - Saturday evening only and Sunday lunch. Always booked up to 4 weeks in advance.
Returned to UK 2001- up until recently Deve had his own Restaurant the " Little Sauce Factory" Featured on WDR German TV and Cartlon TVs
" A Tast of success" 2001-2005 name changed in 2005 to "The Sauce Factory" Featured in many publication.

Demonstration Chef - Craig Ian McAlpine 
After winning Channel 4s Come Dine with me in 2005 , Craig went to set up a bespoke in -house catering and personal chef company.
Having worked in the industry over 10 years, he now has a prestigous list of clients and regularly hosts cooking lessons and workshops
He has appeared on several times on the Ideal World Shopping Channel and done live demonstrations for Chefs Live at Earls Court, Christmas Show at Tatton Park, aslo the Scottish Alliance Game Fair at Glamis Castle among others.
He also provide exclusive one-on-one teaching to clients in his kitchens or their own home, as well a being the resident chef for cooking demonstrations at the Twice Workshops in Perthshire. This year he is also be working alongside the Marquess of Bute on the EatBute09 Food Festival, providng food toursim weekends, cooking demonstrations and cooking gala dinner.

Demonstration Chef - Rajarshi Ganguly

Raj was born in steel township Rourkela, in India the start of Raj's culinary career, he then progressed to the Oberoi Centre of Learnng & Development (O.C.L.D.) one of the worlds top five institutes for training professionals, graduating from (O.C.L.D.) then led Raj to work at senior chef level in top 5* hotels chains such as Taj, HYATT, RADDISON, PARK and many more, feeling the need to learn even more about different cuisines from around the world Raj put on his seafaring shoes and joined P&O Cruises.
During the last 7 years Raj has traveled four times around the world and got hands-on proficiency of the different world cuisines namely British, Italian, Caribbean, Chinese, Pan-pacific, Thai, Australian, French, Mexican, Indian and many more.
During his tours of duty Raj worked as Head Chef for a number of fine dining restaurants like P&O very own signature restaurant at sea and also to including Marco Pierre White's "The White Room" on the British Super Liner "Ventura".
During this time Raj has been featured on many T.V. Programmes on a national level, Raj now spends his time as a Consultant Chef and Demonstrator.

Demonstration Chef - Robert Michel Oberhoffer

Robert has been in hospitality industry for 25 years and a fifth generation chef.
He started his careeer in the Army as a chef where he experienced all levels of catering from 1-6000 on location and in permanent kitchens. The pinnacle of his military career was as the Residential manager/chef for the most senior officer in the British Armed Forces the Deputy Supreme Allied Commander Europe in Mons Belguim. He then finished his military career training young Chefs at the Army school of catering, where he played an integral part in putting young students through International competitions, putting young up and coming chefs through their paces to gain only the very best results.
Robert then worked with Michel Roux Jnr at Le Gavroche and John Burton Race at the Landmark Hotel . For the past 10 years he has been running his own 2 rosette country French restaurant in south Norfolk, but is always looking for new challenges. Throughout his time he has competed at the highest level. His culinary journey has continued whilst at the restaurant. He has appeared on local television, radio and demonstrated dishes at National food shows. He trains and develops all ages, from Primary School "lets get cooking" Secondary School " "Springboard UK" and adults both one to one bespoken novice lessons for his customers, to training Professional Chefs to Hotelympia Gold medal standard and also an Internatioanl Judge. His latest challenge is as a Principle UK development Chef for one of the leading flavours houses " Symrise International"

Demonstration Chef - Bernard Mintz


Chef - Bernard Mintz has many years experience within the catering industry as a top chef, he even ran his own restaurant close to the NEC Birmingham which he developed for 14 years simultaneousely he also ran a provision of first class cuisine to the private jet industry.
Bernard enjoyed the luxury of boarding top executives private jets and meeting names such as Pavaroti, Colin Powell, Whitney Hoston, Britney Spears and many more sports, golfing and music icons. All food was designed specifically for their personal requirements.
Bernard also worked in the marketing of food, NPD, cookery schools and demonstrations. Last year he was asked to take the new Liquid Egg concept into the retail sector at IFE in London and to many other locations to demonstrate its versatility and nutritional value, Bernard is seen above demonstrating at Bovis Homes Show Home in Birmingham.

Demonstration Chef - Mike Harrison

Chef Mike Harrison has earned his reputation from a career spanning almost thirty years during which he has worked and travelled through California, Canada and British Isles. Developing and perfecting his skills and talents for playing with seasonally and locally sourced ingredients to create a truly innovative dining experience.
Michaels restaurant gained the prestigous "Lancashire life newcomer of the year" award in 1996 and also saw him nominated for chef of the year at Manchester food and drink festival. He has since worked closely with celebrity chefs, local authorities and featured in North West Television productions demonstrating his flair in the profession.
As a consultant Michael has been instrumental in the formation of numerous restaurants, local contract catering businesses and cookery schools. He also writes weekly features in a local newspaper and monthly in two magazines.
In 2008 Michael along with a partner set up brand new business in Bolton called Zest fine food this new venture consisted of a fine food store, restaurant and cookery school but in April this year decided to sell his share to concentrate on his consultancy for a large events catering company based in Manchester, Bolton council as food consultant working on a number of projects including their food and drink festival, on which his has been involved since its conception and his bespoke dinner party service.
