Chef Mike Harrison has earned his reputation from a career spanning almost thirty years during which he has worked and travelled through California, Canada and British Isles. Developing and perfecting his skills and talents for playing with seasonally and locally sourced ingredients to create a truly innovative dining experience.

 

Michaels restaurant gained the prestigous "Lancashire life newcomer of the year" award in 1996 and also saw him nominated for chef of the year at Manchester food and drink festival. He has since worked closely with celebrity chefs, local authorities and featured in North West Television productions demonstrating his flair in the profession.

 

As a consultant Michael has been instrumental in the formation of numerous restaurants, local contract catering businesses and cookery schools. He also writes weekly features in a local newspaper and monthly in two magazines.

 

In 2008 Michael along with a partner set up brand new business in Bolton called Zest fine food this new venture consisted of a fine food store, restaurant and cookery school but in April this year decided to sell his share to concentrate on his consultancy for a large events catering company, and works for Bolton council as food consultant working on a number of projects including their food and drink festival, on which his has been involved since its conception.
