Toby Beevers
Toby’s catering careers began at an early age, cooking at a
small family run business during the summer season and filling all his spare time with cooking at home.
This soon led to the start of a 5 year apprenticeship in North
Wales working at the Imperial Hotel, Deganwy Castle, No1 Bistro and attending Llandrillo College From there and fully qualified Toby started at Badger’s Cafe under the guidance of Ron Bamford,
producing classic French pastries.
This proved an ideal finishing school and 1999 Toby secured his
first pastry chef position at Bodysgallen Hall Hotel. Two years later and Toby was off again, successfully earning the place of Head Pastry Chef at the much coveted Chester Grosvenor Hotel under the
watchful eye of Simon Radley.
During his four years at the Grosvenor, Toby married his wife
Joanne in 2003. Toby then progressed into the food service and manufacturing sector working as development chef for Woodward Foodservice and then for Inventive Leisure until recently when he took up
post as Executive Chef at the University of Chester.
Since 1999 Toby has been a keen member of the Welsh National
Culinary Team, competing as pastry chef at a number of international competitions winning Gold at the International Championships in Switzerland and twice, Silver at the Culinary Olympics in
Germany.
Toby’s love for all things pastry has lead to the recent
opening of a CHOCOLATE business which he runs with his wife Joanne. Toby and Jo are intensely passionate about their craft and dedicate themselves to creating inspiring chocolate and patisserie of
the highest standard.
